Obviously this 14 year old kid is more politically aware than most of us…

Oh but wait…is he like young Dylan who said he just sang what he sang because that was what people wanted to hear?

They say Dylan was able to tap into the American subconscious of that time, do we also have a Dylan in making? Perhaps, in this case its the Nepalese people’s collective (sub)consciousness that he could be taping, right Hacker & Rato-tamater?

Regardless, he can sure sing well!

Damn, I am knocked ‘politically unconscious’ by that video, by the general ‘bairagi’ music that makes me cry and pull whatever hair that is left on me head. Ughhh!!!

i have a question to nepali partys that why they are using him as leader .this is time for him to study from which he can choose his future.i hope from next time they will have to think about rubin as he is child .

Ideally Rubin would be in school. But he is literate, intelligent, street-smart despite being presently out of school and has a certain more-than-ordinary future written all over him. Which is to say, I would not imply that he is any less educated than those his age who are in school and that a missing traditional roadmap of a “successful life” is necessarily a misfortune for him and other personalities like him.

So you are okay with the legally-classified as juveniles in the Maoist insurgency?

Logically it is just an extension of what you saying.

They are also Dylans, literate, aware, or no?

6 | Mystichacker:

Are YOU ok with the ‘reality’ of conditions that give rise to juvenile enlisting? Further, noooo, there is absolutely no logical extention at all. One has a sarangi on hand whereas others have guns. Unless you mean death as logical extention of life. Do ya??

He should be in school at this age. Is any son or daughter of similar age of any leader of any party in street now? I wonder is the seven party alliance doing anything for his schooling. Are they just ‘using’? And when they ascend again to the power, will they forget him too as they have forgotten many people like him before?

The boy may be singing from his heart for democracy, but that shouldn’t be the end of his artistic ability. His potential of being a good professional
artist shouldn’t be ignored.

It is a great video piece. He is a real brave to spell the atrocity committed by the current illegitimate king of Nepal not only to people of Nepal but also to his clans. After restoration of full democracy, hope Rubin would not be singing in the street and begging. He should be leading the suppressed and opressed jana jati like him…..

The boy may need to be in school, but I don’t understand how that is the parties’ responsibility given that their only relationship with him is that he gets invitations and some payment for his performances. Besides, he is not interested in traditional education. Rubin is with a gaine association in Thamel, with his gaine cousins, and continues to receive musical training. My only concern for him is that media affection might spoil him, but I personally don’t think a traditional school is the right path for him anyway.

I agree with Sarahana on the concern about parties-Rubin relationships. Hope parties are not doing like “chahiya bela ma bhando, nachahiya bela ma thando” to this ingeneous and courageous boy. The boy must be send to a good school. Where is Mority who could send Gagan Thapa to visit USA but why not this boy to Lincoln School at Rabi Bhawan???

Do the political parties want to ‘use and throw’ to Rubin or really serious about his future???!!

knowing the political parties and their thier attitude, education and mind which is slightly above a chimps (even that’s debatable) - what do you think?

Like all ghandarvhas, Rubin will die of Penury. it will be very different, lets say if his last name is Sharma, Koirala, Giri, Pudasaini or Shrestha, then he will get a nice job in radio nepal.

I saw this little bugger at a protest rally in Baneswor. I swear he was high on glue. He’s very impolite and uncouthly in mannerism and all this fame is not helping him get rid of those habits. He does not even have a good voice it’s like nasal and not pleasant at all. Sounded more like the last mating call of a dying yak.

Its raw.
Its sad.
The guy doesn’t even know he is exposed.
Used, Abused.
The street where it happened was then n there the right place.
I would SLAP the women who thinks she’s done a great job. Another issue. Ride a dildo, not a ego-horse.

Ah, the nuances of physical and verbal abuse..

…and the woman with metal-toed boots would kick you in your balls leaving you gasping for air and begging for mercy as you progressively choke and pass out eventually! Fair game I think.

20 | thanks!:

I really liked hearing this kid …you have given him his due fame. This is no exploit. I think he knows what he is up to, more than any stupid commentators who are commenting on his voice and what not.

21 | Chankhe:

I commend this little oppressed boy’s contribution for a real change in Nepal rather than most other bashed so called elites….

So friends, your comment is now a month older…………………………….Now go and look for Master Rubin where he is NOW? Was he misused for political benefits? Undoubtfully,YES!!!Master Rubin was politically misused….please don’t repeat this PLAY AGAIN!!!
